SorinRand LLP Adds Thomas J. Kent Jr.

It was announced in a press release by the managing partner of SorinRand LLP, David J. Sorin, Esq., that Thomas J. Kent Jr. has joined the firm. Kent will be a partner and will serve as the chair of the firm’s Franchising and Distribution practice.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Tom to SorinRand,” Sorin said. “He shares the firm’s core values and principles. He is dedicated to client service at the highest levels of quality, responsiveness, direct interaction and businesspersons’ sensibility combined with steadfast adherence to ensuring efficiency and a compelling value proposition.”

Kent previously worked as the co-chair of Fox Rothschild LLP’s Licensing & Distribution Practice.

“When I decided to move my practice, I considered several firms with platforms similar to Fox Rothschild in terms of size and practice areas,” Kent said. “I chose SorinRand because I believe in the philosophy the firm is based upon. SorinRand is poised to meet the legal needs of my clients today and going forward. I’m truly looking forward to the opportunity to be joining this award-winning firm and to be working side-by-side with attorneys who have such a wonderful reputation.”

The managing partner for SorinRand’s office in Radnor and the firm’s Tax Practice chair, George Nagle, said, “Tom’s expertise broadens our service offerings in the industries in which we are already highly recognized and for the emerging growth and middle market clients to which we have dedicated the firm.”

Kent has also worked as a managing partner at a law firm in Chester County, Pennsylvania and as an in-house counsel for Cottman Transmission Systems.

“My interest in franchise law began at Cottman but I am passionate about it now because it affords me the opportunity to work with entrepreneurs who have the interest in growing existing brands nationally and internationally,” Kent said.

Kent also belongs to the Archbishop John Carroll High School Advisory Board and the Pennsylvania Restaurant Association, the Brandywine Chapter, its Board of Directors.
