Dean Upgrades

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth School of Law has selected Mary Lu Bilek as its new dean; she hails from City University of New York’s School of Law where she was an associate dean and professor; she graduated from Harvard, and at CUNY worked on programs for legal education diversity, and heading the American Bar Associations committee on diversity in legal education from 2010-2011

Stetson University College of Law has selected Christopher Pietruszkiewicz as its new dean; he hails from Louisiana State University Law Center where he served as vice chancellor for business and financial affairs; he has served as president of the board of trustees for the Southeastern Association of Law schools for 2005-2006. “Chris Pietruszkiwicz is recognized and respected nationally as a leader in legal education. I am confident that with his dynamic leadership, the Stetson University College of Law will continue to flourish as an excellent law school and earn distinction as an exemplar of 21st century legal education,” said Provost Beth Paul.

Vermont Law School has selected Marc Mihaly as its next president and dean; he was hired by Vermont in 2004 and was working as its current Associate Dean of Environmental Programs and Director of the Environmental Law Center; before that he ran his own firm for 25 years focusing on environmental issues. “As a proven entrepreneur, fundraiser, and communicator, he will be well positioned to take advantage of new opportunities,” said the school.

Southwestern Law School has selected Vice Dean Austen Parish as its new Dean; he has been vice Dean since 2008. He focuses on Canada-U.S. transboundary relations.
