The tax program of Boston University Law School was established in 1959 and it is designed to provide advanced knowledge to deal with a complex global regulatory environment. The same faculty that teaches the residential Graduate Tax Program at the university would be conducting the online LL.M.
John Riccardi, assistant dean for Graduate and International Programs told the media, “This is an exciting initiative that will allow both domestic and internationally trained lawyers to advance their careers while maintaining their practices, either in the US or abroad … The online program option offers the same rigorous training as our residential program, with courses taught by the same highly experienced instructors who teach in Boston.”
Anne Benson, assistant director of the GTP said “At BU Law, providing LL.M students with a vast array of student services is a top priority … We are committed to providing our online students with the same outstanding support as our on-campus students.”
Even through the recession, tax practice continued to retain its hold as one of the best areas for practice, and online campuses being more cost-effective it is a better opportunity for working lawyers. The program would also be offering an Executive LL.M in International Business Law, which is a blended learning program for practitioners who cannot attend the traditional residential program.
