Random Run!

Happy Saturday everyone!

For the past couple Saturdays I haven’t posted, but today I just had to pop in to tell you about my run this morning! I had 5 miles on my plan (pull back week), and since I’m taking care of my brother’s dog, Molly, I decided just to do the 5 miles myself, rather than spending 3 hours going to my group run, running, and coming home.

Well, I made the right choice! I headed out on a gorgeous morning around 6:45am and almost 4 miles into my run I head a lot of music up ahead! I decided to stop and ask what was going on. Nike was putting on an event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Title IX and to kick off their summer events!

Title IX is an educational amendment that states: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity.”

They said I could hop right in, so I did! I only got to do about 15 minutes of their bootcamp program, but it was a blast and I got a t-shirt afterwards! They had events going on all day, and right after the one I did was an event to get kids active!

Very cool Nike Chicago! You can follow them on the twitter handle: @NikeChicago

I finished up my 5 miles, which were a little rough. I was sore and pretty sure I pulled something in my hamstring during the lunges at the bootcamp… haha oh well, I had fun!

And now I’m off to run errands and excited to hang out with Chelsey this afternoon! Enjoy your Saturday!

What are you up to this weekend?

I started this blog in August of 2011 because I needed a creative outlet and I wanted to write about my life in a way that other women could relate to and realize that they aren’t alone in many aspects of their lives.
