Justin Bieber was recently in Oslo, Norway to play a free show from the roof of the Opera House in the city. During the concert, thousands of screaming fans hit the streets of the city to watch the concert, which almost caused a state of emergency. Scooter Braun, the manager for Bieber, tweeted the following on Wednesday: “the streets are filled…the bridges are closed. it is out of control. we may have to start the show early or they will cancel.”
Bieber took to Twitter to beg his fans to comply with police officers on the streets who were threatening to cancel the show: “I dont want anyone getting hurt. I want everything to go to plan but your safety must come first. … for the show to happen u must all listen to the police. we are all concerned for your safety and i want what is best for u. please listen.”
The concert was filmed as a part of the NBC special called “Justin Bieber: All Around the World,” began 30 minutes prior to its scheduled start time. According to one newspaper from Norway, there were 88 fans treated for injuries that included dehydration and cuts. That same newspaper estimated that anywhere from 5,000 to 6,000 people were at the concert. The mayor of Oslo, Fabian Stang, said that the show’s organizers should have “ensured that [the show] was safer for the fans.”
