The celebrity couple of Russell Brand and Katy Perry came across as not having the most amicable divorce on record recently. Brand filed for divorce from Perry only 14 months after they were married. Brand, after filing for divorce, began having flings with multiple women not long after filing. Brand appeared on Ellen this week and told DeGeneres that he still loves his ex-wife.
“I still love her as a human being,” Brand said. “But, sometimes when you’re in a relationship I suppose it doesn’t work out, does it? But that doesn’t mean I regret it or anything.”
Recently at the Coachella Festival, Perry was seen enjoying the company of her new man, Robert Ackroyd. Ackroyd is the guitarist for Florence + The Machine.
“I was very happy to be married with her,” Brand continued. “She’s such a beautiful human being and I just have only love and positivity for her.”
Brand also said the following about their bitter breakup:
“You can’t absolutely make everything the way you want it to be in life. Sometimes thing are just different and then you to just move with that and try and remain in contact with what is beautiful about yourself and each other with any situation.”
Brand described Perry as “a person I still consider to be beautiful . . . I have nothing but positivity for her.”
