Bogus Cop in Mississippi Pulls Over Victims and Kills Them

It may be dangerous to pull over for a cop in Mississippi: two have been found dead in their car, apparently after they stopped for a phony cop.

On May 8, Thomas Schlender, 74 was found shot dead on Interstate 55 at around 1:30 a.m.

On may 12, Lori Ann Carsweel, 48 was also found dead just outsider her car on the shoulder of the Mississippi State Highway at around 2:15 a.m.

“There are similarities between the two incidents, mainly the fact they happened along a Mississippi highway,” said the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation Director LT. Col. Larry Waggoner. “The concern is that someone is posing as a law enforcement officer and that is how these vehicles end up on the side of the road.”

Other than the similarity of their deaths, there is no known link between the two victims.

Matt and Tracey Anderson, Schlender’s daughter and son-in-law, are seeking to end the mystery:

“We know that the details are not going to be pretty. We know that this is a violent end to a very kind man’s life,” said Matt.

“It’s hard to imagine your father in that situation,” said Tracey.

Authorities are recommending Mississippi residents call 911 if they feel suspicious about being pulled over in order to check the legitimacy of the cop, and also to not let themselves be pulled over except in a busy well lit part of the road.
