Chinese Zoo Keeper Saves Monkey by Licking It

A zoo keeper from China has allegedly saved a tiny monkey’s life because he licked the monkey’s butt for an hour or so. Now that is commitment to animals and commitment to your job to the utmost degree. Talk about going above and beyond your job description. The zoo keeper, Zhang Bangsheng, sprung into action after he noticed that the young monkey had eaten a peanut and then was experiencing pain because he could not pass the peanut through his system.

The monkey is only three months old and it is a Francois Langur, was seen looking pretty sick and uncomfortable at the Wuham Zoo. It was surrounded by multiple peanut shells that had been thrown into its area by visitors to the zoo. Bangsheng noticed that the critter was not feeling well and decided to take matter into his own hands. The monkey is too small to ingest medicine administered to other sick animals at the zoo so Bangsheng washed the monkey’s butt with warm water before he began licking it. He licked the monkey’s butt until it could excrete the nut it had ingested. It was reported that Bangsheng ‘laughed with satisfaction’ after the little monkey was able to pass the nut that was obstructing his body.
