The Best Monday Ever

Anyone want to take a guess at why today is the best Monday ever? Most of you know I don’t like my Mondays this semester – they are the looooongest day of the week: 5:00am wake up call, hit the gym, hit the shower, leave for school at 7:30 am, classes all day, get home at 7:00pm.

So why in the world would I be excited about today (minus the oral argument and presentation I have to do…)??

IT’S MY LAST LONG MONDAY!!!!!

Yaayyyyy!!!! That’s right folks, this is the LAST time I will be tortured on a Monday! I’m going to try and make the best of it, but we’ll see how it goes! I  am sooooo not a fan of speaking in front of people and I have to do it twice today. I know in reality it will be fin, but I get so anxious about it! I just want it to be over with!

Yesterday was a pretty interesting day… It started out with a workout at the gym and then home and straight to the shower. I met someone for brunch afterwards at a restaurant called Feast. I have to say, I wasn’t super impressed. They did have a gluten free menu online, but when I got there I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, so I just ordered the chef’s omelet for the day. It was tomato, spinach and swiss cheese… really creative… not. It was just alright. The potatoes were extra crispy though, which was pretty good.

After brunch I headed home and got a bunch of work done for these presentations and then worked on some outlines. For a late lunch/snack I made a brown rice tortilla pizza! I just covered the tortilla the with marinara sauce and added spinach and thinly sliced eggplant. Stuck it in the oven at about 450* for 10 minutes and it was ready to go! I actually ate it with a little hummus too! So good.

After my snack, I headed over to my brother’s apartment to catch up with him and my sister-in-law and, of course, visit my favorite “person” ever: MOLLY! She was very caught up with her toys. Please note she is sitting on top of my sister in law in this picture. She doesn’t care if someone is in her seat, she’ll sit there anyway.

And don’t worry, we don’t make Molly play with rags… She has about a million toys, this one has just got a little more “love” than some others, although less than those that are already in the trash…

Also, I got my Birchbox package this weekend! For those of you who don’t know, Birchbox is a company that sends you beauty samples for $10 a month. I meant to try it out for 1 or 2 months and then cancel my membership… I just can’t bring myself to cancel it. I LOVE samples, it’s so fun to get the box each week!

This week was a really great box and I wanted to share it with you all. The “theme” of the month was Natural Wonders. Everything was made with natural ingredients! They also mentioned on the card that all the boxes that these samples come in are 100% recyclable AND they offset all the carbon emissions from their shipping! Go Birchbox!

My box included the perfume Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift, which smelled much better than I anticipated! I’m usually hesitant when it comes to celebrity-endorsed perfumes, but I liked this one! The box also included an Alima Pure Organic Nourishing Lip balm in Rhubarb, Willa gentle cleansing lavender facial towelettes and Dropps Laundry Detergent. I haven’t tried the detergent or the towelettes yet, but I loved the lip balm and the color was pretty subtle but nice.

The last item in the box was another box! It was filled with an exfoliator and moisturizer from Befine. I haven’t used the exfoliator, but the moisturizer smelled amazing, worked well and it was very light and didn’t feel like it was oily or anything on my face, it felt like a fluffy cloud! (yes, I’m weird and clearly not a writer…)

I hope you all also had a great Sunday and a great weekend! And I also hope your weather was much warmer than here in Chicago… Come on spring, where did you go???

Do you use any all-natural products?

What are your favorite pizza toppings?
