Millennium Falcon Look Alike School Goes Viral

A long time ago at a High School in Allentown, Pa., architects made a school that is the spitting image of the Millennium Falcon, ‘the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy,” — though they deny any such intent.

“There is no connection,” claimed Nicole McGalla, the school districts spokesman.

“We don’t design buildings based on what they would like from space,” said one of ATS&R’s lead architects, adding that “it would be pretty hard to go in and convince people a spaceship is the right start,” for a school design.

“Officials at Parkland High School … deny that this is anything more than a coincidence but their piddling attempts at Jedi mind tricks will not work on us,” wrote Shannon Lucas on a blog for E!

Well, even if its a coincidence, students are tickled with the image of the school from space, and it has gone viral, trending worldwide on Twitter, and making the front page of Buzzfeed.

Architects say that the curvy design for the school allows for more natural sunlight to permeate the halls and classrooms of the school. But the road running around the school gives the final touch, making the connection between the space image and the space shape inevitable.
