“O.J. Is Innocent and I Can Prove It” Boasts the Title of a New Book Which Claims to Identify the True Killer

P.I. William Dear has released a new book which reveals once and for all the true killer in the murder case that has left everybody cluelessly wondering “whodunit?” The O.J. Simpson trial was right, the book claims, Simpson is innocent: his son’s to blame!

The 576-account went on sale at Amazon.com Monday, making the case that Jason Simpson is the true man behind the murders of Nicole Brown and her friend, Ron Goldman.

Nevermind that Jason was never considered a suspect, nor a person of interest, that he was certainly never charged or arrested, that his blood was not discovered at the crime, or that O.J. meanwhile was found guilty of the same crime when was no longer in the media circus, during a civil lawsuit filed by Nicole’s family, when Simpson was found liable for their deaths and was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages. Worst of all, nevermind that Jason doesn’t seem to have any sort of motive. We can forget all that, because Read has found the smoking gun.

So what is at the heart of Read’s case? He alleges to have discovered the murder weapon, a knife found in Jason Simpson’s abandoned locker, with his initials on it. He also has garnered a picture of Jason wearing the infamous hat that was argued to tie O.J. to the crime scene. Further, upon sorting through Jason’s trash and abandoned belongings, he discovered the man’s diary, which details his aggressive tendencies and his obsession with knives.

“You’re dealing with a young man who just weeks prior had checked into a hospital where he said he was out of his medication and was about to rage,” Dear said. “I have no doubt he had no intention of killing her, but [he] confronted her and, as a result, something happened.”

He apparently confronted her over some food he had prepared for the family– or…something. The motive for the crime is pretty sketchy, and Read seems to bank on the assumption that people with mental disorders don’t need a motive. Meanwhile, he claims that O.J. knew his son’s crime and decided to take the fall for him.

Read claims his credentials are exceptional, and the man is at least a familiar P.I. in the media, having made appearances on Current Affair, Unsolved Mysteries, and Fox TV. Nevertheless, his stories don’t always check out. He was part of a group that insisted Lee Harvey Oswald’s body was not in his coffin. It seemed convincing enough to get Oswald exhumed in 1981. The very much present Oswald was subsequently put back to rest in his grave.
