Dennis Rodman Owes Over $800,000 in Back Child Support

Dennis Rodman owes close to $800,000 in back child support payments and has not paid anything because he is completely broke, according to new court documents recently released in the case. Michelle Rodman, the ex-wife of Dennis Rodman, filed new papers earlier this month. She claims that she is owed $808,935 in unpaid child support for their 9 and 10 year old children. She also claims that she is owed an additional $51,441 in unpaid spousal support.

After the new documents were filed by Michelle Rodman, Dennis Rodman’s attorney responded to those documents by saying that the legendary Chicago Bulls player could not pay those bills to his ex-wife. The attorney said he could not pay those bills because “Respondent Dennis Rodman is broke and cannot afford any additional fees.” Rodman’s lawyer also said that Rodman is ‘extremely sick’ and is not making the same amount of money he used to make when playing in the NBA. Rodman’s attorney did not disclose the problems Rodman is suffering from with his illness.

The lawyer also claims that the massive child support figure mentioned by Michelle Rodman was acquired by her behind Dennis’ back. The child support forces Rodman to pay $50,000 per month in child support fees. This child support order has been fought by Dennis since 2010. The lawyer for Rodman claims that the $50,000 per month in child support is ‘unjustified’ because it is not based on the actual income of Dennis Rodman. Instead, it is based on estimates determined by the lawyer of Michelle Rodman. Rodman is due to appear in court today for a contempt hearing, which comes from the bill for child support. Rodman could be issued a sentence of 20 days in jail because he has yet to make payments on the child support bill. A representative for Rodman claims that the reference to Rodman being ‘sick’ referred to his problems with alcoholism.
