First Whitney, Now Bobby

Just a few days after the autopsy report that Whitney Houston had used cocaine prior to drowning in a bath tub, her ex-husband, singer Bobby Brown, was arrested for DUI.

Brown, 43, was pulled over at around 12:10 p.m. for talking on his cell phone while driving. The policeman reported that Brown “displayed objective symptoms of intoxication and was asked to submit to a series of Field Sobriety test[s] that he was unable to perform as explained/demonstrated.” His blood alcohol content was later determined to be .08 or higher.

After being charged, Brown spent a few hours in jail before he was released.

Brown was married to Houston for 14 years and fathered with her one daughter, 17-year-old Bobbi Kristina, till he divorced Houston and lost custody of Bobbi in 2007. The marital unrest of the Houston household has been legendary and has fueled an entire industry of tabloid fascination.

This wasn’t Brown’s first DUI incident. He was also arrested in Georgia in 1996, pled guilty to DUI and was charged to serve 8 days in jail.

Media attention is back on Brown because of Whitney’s death and because of the incident where he left her funeral service after getting in an argument with her family.
