YouTube: Beagle and Otter Put Aside Class Differences to Enjoy Friendship and Play

Despite inter-species tensions, cultural differences, and class clashing, this otter and dog have managed to cut through that bullshit and build a friendship. The dog, Rio, whose territory aligns with the edge of the otter’s river-home, has become more and more acquainted with the odd fellow, till after months of familiarity they have taken to playful spars.

The river otter, a slippery fellow, has no qualms about slinking through the rails of the metal fence, jumping out of range to catch his breath, and even faking an exit into the pond only to strike back at the unsuspecting canine.

The dog, owned by the YouTube poster’s daughter, Christine, lives with them in Jacksonville, Florida; she got the dog from a friend in 2006, and the beagle even served as “best dog” in her wedding last month.

Unfortunately, the pressure from a world that doesn’t understand might have imposed on the innocent love between otter and dog. The poster noted that after the otter had played with the dog for several months, “one day [it] just didn’t show up.” But the poster remembers the good times, saying, “It was a special time and love that we can still enjoy the time via the video.”
