Wedding Weekend–Part 2

Hey everyone! I know normally today would be a What I Ate Wednesday, but since I’ve been on vacation I haven’t been very good about taking pictures of things I’ve eaten! So today is SOWIAW (Some of What I Ate Wednesday) along with the rest of my wedding weekend recap!

If you’re new to WIAW, head over to Peas and Crayons to check out what it’s all about!

Lucky me, I happened to get in plenty of veggies on Sunday, the day after the wedding!

Here’s part 1 of my Wedding Weekend Re-Cap if you missed it! We left off with getting ready and heading to the wedding! The ceremony was held in the Church on the Newberry College Campus, and was absolutely gorgeous! I didn’t get any pictures of the ceremony because I felt odd taking pictures during it,  plus I wanted to just enjoy the moment!

After Mary and Vince said their I Do’s, we headed to her reception at the Country Club. Since it was a pretty large wedding, it was set up half inside, and the rest (including the AMAZING band) outside in a large tent. It was pretty cold if you were near the edges of the tent, but they had some pretty powerful heaters out there that helped quite a lot!

Again, since it was a pretty large wedding, there was no buffet or sit down dinner, but heavy hors d’oeurves, which were delicious! There was also plenty for me to eat! Haha but not too many veggies, so good thing I didn’t snap pictures to add to my Green WIAW! My favorite, though, was the seafood bar with shrimp cocktail! I hadn’t had shrimp in ages!

Mary and Vince did a first dance inside, but a while later they also danced outside once the band started up. I couldn’t get a great picture, but here they are!

Isn’t her dress gorgeous? Mary was absolutely glowing all night! We also had a pretty great time on the dance floor!

Sorry for the fuzziness, but this is actually the only picture I’m in all night, and I managed to get it with the bride herself! Near the end of the party she also switched into a short white dress so she could dance without people stepping on her dress!

I still cannot get over that she is married now! She’s my second close friend to get married and it is so weird to me that I’m finally at the age where this is going to keep happening! I’m old! And in case anyone is curious, my dress is a full-length dress that I found at H&M! It was a total steal and I’ve actually worn it THREE TIMES over the past 10 months. I’m getting some use out it! Bargain shopping at it’s finest…

We had a great time at the wedding, but when it was over I was so ready to head back to the lakehouse! I barely sat during the wedding and my feet were KILLING me! I’m not a heels girl!

The next morning most everyone had to head out early to get back to Charleston or to Columbia, so I did the last of that week’s workouts from Tina’s Bootcamp, and added a quick 10 minute walk/jog interval session and then hit the shower and packed up! Luckily that workout was all body weight except one move, so I just skipped that one move!

I drove the lovely Fiat on to Greenville and stopped at a Barnes and Noble to get a book for my two flights: Greenville to Chicago, then Chicago to Denver. Luckily I didn’t even have to get off the plane in Chicago, so no worries about transferring!

When I was just about to reach the airport I got a text from my dad saying my flight had been delayed 2 hours. I didn’t want to sit there for another 2 hours so I turned my butt around and headed back to Greenville (I was only about 8 minutes away) and headed to the Whole Foods I had seen.

I was starving at that point (I’d eaten a few leftover things and a banana for breakfast) and so I hit up their salad bar for lunch!

And as luck would have it, there was a Frozen Yogurt place just a few shops down from Whole Foods! This sure made my delayed flight worth it!

And yes, that’s a lot of white sugar you see in that picture. For those of you new to the blog (WELCOME!) I’m not supposed to have gluten, soy, pasteurized milk, or white sugar. However, I’m having a rough time with the sugar thing… But it’s a rare occasion and even though it upsets my stomach a bit, I just had to have some!

I still managed to hit the airport a little early (returning the Fiat and security went a lot faster than I imagined) so I had some serious time to kill. I set up a “standing desk” and read through blogs and e-mails that I’d missed since I didn’t have internet over the weekend.

My flight actually ended up being delayed from 4 to about 7:45 so I was pretty hungry again! They had 1 option in the terminal so I headed over to the deli and ended up getting the chef’s salad with no cheese (it had turkey, ham, bacon and tomatoes) with honey mustard dressing and some Pirates Booty, which I ended up eating on the plane (along with a Kind granola bar and lots of peanuts…)

I was pleasantly surprised by this salad – it was really good! Haha I would totally go back there for this salad! The ingredients were all fresh and pretty good quality! And the honey mustard was delicious!

I finally made it into Denver at about 10:15 and then once I’d gotten my bag my dad and I hit the road. He’d driven up from Colorado Springs to get me, and it was another hour and 20 minute drive back. Let’s just say I fell into bed after midnight and was so ready for some sleep!

It was an amazing weekend, and I’m so happy for Vince and Mary! Ahhh I can’t believe they’re married! Haha. Hope you all also had a good weekend!

What’s one of the most fun/interesting weddings you’ve been to?

What do you do to entertain yourself when your flight has been delayed?
