It was announced today by Winston & Strawn LLP that Robert J. Rawn will be joining the firm in its New York office. Rawn is a well-known securities and corporate attorney and has been a lawyer for over 20 years. His practice skill-set includes acquisitions, mergers, divestitures and joint ventures for private and public companies, cross-border transactions and securities. Rawn left Bryan Cave to join Winston.
“We’re delighted that Rob has chosen to bring his substantial experience to Winston and to help us continue to grow our corporate and other departments in the heart of the nation’s financial center,” said Michael Elkin, the managing partner at the New York office, according to a press release.
“The depth of his experience in advising top tier companies in high stakes transactions as well as governance issues will be valued by our global corporate clients based in all 15 of our offices,” said Steven J. Gavin, the chairman of the law firm’s corporate department.
Rawn has represented companies in the United States and around the globe with successful transactions and successful negotiations ranging from mid-market sized companies to cases involving billions of dollars.
“I am looking forward to joining Winston’s corporate team and helping it to even more fully leverage its substantial know-how for clients,” said Rawn, who received his J.D. from New York University. He graduated cum laude from Princeton University, where he acquired his undergraduate degree.
