Lindsay Lohan Back with a Bang on SNL: Stars and Fans Lend Support

Though, admittedly, Lindsay’s return to the public on SNL was cautious and cued, fans and show stars put their weight behind Lindsay’s comeback.

Despite the negative comments from pundits and critics, fans had their say by pushing the SNL ratings higher than past hosts like Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, Jimmy Fallon and Alec Baldwin. It proved the audience had their values in the right place and they chose to bolster Lindsay’s confidence in her efforts to make a comeback.

Needless to say, low ratings at SNL would have hurt Lindsay Lohan more than all the criticism in the world. People felt that, and made sure that she received another full chance at life.

Jimmy Fallon made an appearance on the show to support Lindsay and said, “The new/old Lindsay Lohan is back!”

To cheers by the audience, Fallon continued: “You’re the same little girl who stole our hearts in ‘The Parent Trap,’ you’re the teenager who dazzled us in ‘Mean Girls,’ you’re the lady who absolutely blew us away in ‘The Help’ ….You can do this, and if for any reason you can’t, Jon Hamm is on standby as backup host.”

And she did it. Though she had some expected falters (heavily criticized since then on the internet) Lindsay proved that it can be done, and life does give a second chance.

Lindsay opened the show with a monologue: “I feel lucky and grateful to be here tonight and that’s why I really want to thank all of my friends at “SNL” who trusted me enough to have me back. This studio feels like home to me.”

The party after the show was held at Kibo, a Japanese restaurant in the Gramercy area of New York. During the party, Lindsay went around the tables meeting people and thanking them personally for their support.

According to spectators, it was heartening to see Lindsay walking the talk and meeting people up to 3.00 am without drinking in a party where everyone was getting drunk.

Linday’s entire family, except her father was present. Her father who’s at present living in a Florida halfway house tweeted his support for Lindsay while watching the “SNL.”
