Lindsay Lohan Hosts ‘Saturday Night Live’

Lindsay Lohan has been receiving mixed thoughts regarding her stint as the host of ‘Saturday Night Live’ this past weekend but not all of the reviews were bad. Some insiders from Hollywood liked what she brought to the table on Saturday night.

“She got slammed on Twitter and Facebook and all over social media,” according to one veteran studio employee. “But the people who actually can give her jobs — at least the ones I talked to — said she did a fine job and had several truly funny moments.”

What most people hated about the performance, if you can call it a performance, was the fact that you could tell she was reading her lines right off of the cue cards, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

“All the ‘SNL’ kids do that, of course, but Lindsay was really kind of bad at that. I know they change scenes and lines right up to when the show goes live in New York, but that seeming lack of focus is something that directors and producers would be worried about,” according to a veteran casting director. “It really seemed very evident when she did that house-sitting skit with Kristen Wiig going crazy over imagined crank calls.”

One of Lohan’s best friends, who has stuck with her through thick and thin, has said that proof of her talent “will come from how she does with that Elizabeth Taylor Lifetime film and other projects that are said to be in the works. Lindsay is a talented actress and as long as she stays sober, she’ll be great.”

The friend also said that the monologue performed by Lohan was ‘very funny,’ and “with both her self-deprecating jokes about her problems and the other cast members checking her out.”

Some other Lohan notes from her week at ‘SNL:’

The problems she has with her father, Michael, are still going strong. A source from the show said that he called Lindsay prior to the show going live and the call was not given to her at the request of her team.

“It was clear they didn’t want him to do anything to upset her — even if all he was going to say was ‘good luck!’ ”

On the other hand, Dina, Lindsay’s mom, said the following after the show:

“Wasn’t she great? Wasn’t she hilarious?!” Dina also made it known that she was not happy with the way the cue cards were handled for her daughter. Dina claimed that the positioning of the cards was not done “as well as they do for the regulars on the show.”
