Actress Sean Young Arrested Outside Governors Ball

Actress Sean Young was arrested following the Academy Awards on Sunday night. She was reportedly arrested by police because she was trying to enter the Oscar party without being on the guest list and for allegedly getting physical with one of the security guards working the event. The Academy throws an after party each year, known as the Governors Ball, which Young was attending.

Young starred in ‘Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.’ Young was detained using a citizen arrest by one of the security guards at the behest of an Oscar official until police officers could arrive on scene. Young was charged with misdemeanor battery during booking with the Los Angeles Police Department.

Young has told multiple media outlets that she was with friends waiting to enter the Governors Ball when the unnamed official from the Oscars recommended that a security guard place her under citizen’s arrest. Young did not mention to the media why the Oscar official had her put under citizen’s arrest and she did not discuss the possible altercation with the security guard on duty.

It has been released that Young was asked to leave by a security guard because they found out that she did not have a ticket to the Governors Ball. When she was asked to leave she was outside taking pictures with friends. Young decided to leave the area but then returned a little while later, with security asking her to leave for a second time. When the guard asked Young to leave a second time, a hand might have been placed on Young’s arm, which is when Young allegedly slapped the guard. Young was then placed in citizen’s arrest for the battery of the security guard.
