WIAW–On a Loooooong Day

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Another Wednesday means another What I Ate Wednesday! For those of you who are new to WIAW, be sure to head over to Peas and Crayons to check it out, and possibly find some great new blogs or recipes!

Today’s WIAW is all from Monday, which is a ROUGH day for me! But I can’t complain, because it’s my only bad day of the whole week! I actually had my ONLY class on Tuesday cancelled, so I got to stay home and get all my work done there, rather than commuting downtown to school! It was lovely….

Anyway, back to Monday! Mondays are rough because I have class from 8:30am to 6:00pm, which means that I leave my apartment at 7:30am and I get back at 7:00pm. And by the time I’m heading for that bus home, I’m not a happy camper and usually pretty exhausted…

5:05 am – Wake up Call

I got up at 5:05am (yes, I needed those extra five minutes), threw on my gym clothes and headed to the gym to get in the Workout A from NROLFW. If you read my post yesterday, you’ll know that I decided to take a break from NROLFW, but that morning I had tried out the first workout from Stage 3 to see how I felt about it.

7:15 am – Breakfast

I managed to catch a bus back, which saved me about 10 minutes of walking. This meant, oats for breakfast! I threw together a quick bowl of oats in the microwave, which include 1/3 C oats, 1/3 C flax milk, 1/3 C water. After microwaving a bit, I added 1/3 C pumpkin and 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, microwaved it a teeny bit again, and then topped it with a T of almond butter! Filling and quick, just what I needed before running to catch the bus!

And yes, I know it looks like poo. Deal with it. Or try it. Because it’s amazing.

11:40am – Snack Time

I ate my breakfast at about 7:15, but I don’t get to eat lunch until 1:15. For those of you not good with math, that’s 6 hours. I do NOT go 6 hours without eating! In between two classes I quickly had an apple (unpictured…) and one of my cinnamon protein bars.

1:15 pm – Lunch!

Just what I needed to tide me over until lunch! For lunch, I had brought two turkey muffins (I made another batch Sunday) so I got a bunch of lettuce and veggies from the cafeteria and broke up my turkey muffin on top to make a salad! It was delicious, I love those muffins!

3:45 pm – Snack Time

Right before my last class, at about 3:45, I snacked on some celery and carrots (yes, I ate all the celery and most of the carrots before I remembered to take a picture) and grabbed some Cinnamon Apple tea from the cafeteria.

5:00pm – Snack 2

My last class is 2 hours long and my teacher likes to take a break halfway through. So during our short break I ate a tangerine that I had already peeled up and brought with me… Sorry no picture. I keep my phone in my bag during class!

We finished up just before 6 and I headed to my locker (yes, we have lockers!) to grab my coat, leave my books, and head for the bus! Lucky me, I just made it in time or I’d have to wait 15 min outside in the cold for another bus!

Fast forward 50 min later and I had made it back into my apartment, and sooo ready for something super quick and easy. I was exhausted and almost tempted to just go to bed… but oh wait, it was 7pm…

7:00 pm – Dinner Time

I ended up making a pumpkin protein muffin from STUFT Mama, and had it with some chocolate “sauce”. For the sauce, I combined 1/4 C plain Greek yogurt, 1 T Chocolate PB2, 1/2 T Cocoa powder and then water to thin it out.

And yes, this is a recycled picture… Just imagine the muffin is brownish orange. I have faith in you.

8:00 pm – Dessert

I read some blogs and watched some Friday Night Lights on Netflix, but I was still a little hungry about 45 min later, so I grabbed a vanilla Chobani and threw a few blueberries on top! Perfect dessert. Oh, and then I practically fell into my bed.

We’ll just pretend I stayed up past 9….

Midnight – Bed time! (Okay, okay, 9:00 pm…)

Do you have one day of the week that’s particularly long (or just feels like it)?

What is your favorite meal/snack to make yourself when you are just exhausted?
