Obama Releases Energy Ad Campaign

Obama has recently launched an advertisement campaign in a variety of different states across the nation. His ad campaign launched Wednesday in Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, Iowa, Ohio and Wisconsin. All of these states are swing states, so it seems he is trying to sharpen his image in states that he does not have have confidence in winning come election time.

The ad campaign is entitled “Unprecedented”, and it highlights his victories in clean energy. Meanwhile, many people are trying to destroy his image. They are trying to downplay any victories that he has made during his time in office. Because of this, he is attempting to fend off attacks of “secret oil billionaires” like the Koch brothers who’s “fact-checkers say are not tethered to the facts.”

While the purpose for ads like this in a political environment that focuses mostly on the economy was not immediately seen, the Obama administration has its reasons. Third-party groups have risen recently, focusing on the president’s energy policies. Speaking of its flaws, weaknesses and failures. The campaign is a way to push back against those attackers, and prove that it is, in fact, a success in the midst of a troubled time in the environment.
