Man Mistaken for Intruder Stabbed to Death by Family Member

An absolutely tragic story has come out of Littleton, Colorado this week. A Littleton family member was mistaken for an intruder and then stabbed to death in a retirement community on Saturday night. Around 11:45 p.m. Saturday night, an unidentified person entered a home in Littleton where another person in the home thought it was an intruder entering. The person inside the home stabbed the entrant multiple times.

The entrant had a key to the home, so he entered through the front door, because it was common for him to visit the family’s home.

A resident of the Wolhurst Mobile Home Retirement Community was the person killed in the incident. The victim was a son of a resident, who was stabbed to death by the same resident’s nephew. The nephew was frightened by the person who entered the home.

The family called 911 for help after the stabbing took place and family members realized that the victim in fact was not an intruder. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital to have his wounds treated but he later died from those injuries.

There have not been any charges filed in the case so far and the names of the victim and the nephew have yet to be released.
