Cee Lo Green Changes Lyrics to Lennon Song

A large uproar was caused on New Year’s Eve when singer Ceel Lo Green changed the words to John Lennon’s ‘Imagine.’

Green sang Lennon’s song on NBC’s New Year’s Eve show not too long before the ball dropped at midnight in Times Square. During the presentation, Green changed Lennon’s lyrics from ‘Nothing to kill or die for, And no religion too’ to ‘Nothing to kill or die for, and all religion’s true.’

The lyric change did not go unnoticed, which prompted Green to use a preemptive strike on Twitter to any responses:

“Yo I meant no disrespect by changing the lyric guys! I was trying to say a world were u could believe what u wanted that’s all.”

Despite issuing an explanation on Twitter right after he finished the song, Green was still attacked on Twitter by Lennon fans across the world.
