Mason Jar Cookie Mixes!

Good Morning! Only 3 days until Christmas!!! Do you have all your shopping done? I do! Haha no wrapping done yet though… Baby steps.

This morning I’m headed to Jazzercise in a couple hours with my mom, so I made a delicious breakfast beforehand! It included 1 slice of Udi bread with PB2 powder mixed with water to make “peanut butter” and half a sliced banana. I put the extra peanut sauce in my bowl of 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin mixed with 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder and truvia and cinnamon to taste.

And of course, coffee in my festive mug!

Yesterday I finally finished up some of my holiday gifts! Hoping the recipients don’t read my blog… I think all three of them are traveling today so we’re good.

Anyway, I had seen several bloggers get a trial with an online company that makes personalized cookie mixes in a jar. I decided it would be cute if I made my own as gifts for some of my friends!

I funneled (with a paper towel…) the dry parts of a chocolate chip cookie recipe into the jar in layers: flour, baking powder, brown sugar and white sugar. Then I topped it off with red and green M&Ms instead of chocolate chips.

I took the rest of the ingredients and the baking instructions and typed them up on my computer, adding a little border. And yes, I used Paint. I’ve been using the program paint since I can remember using a computer. I can’t believe it still exists! So helpful.

One of my friends has Celiac (she can’t eat gluten) so I used the chocolate chip cookie recipe that my dad used when he sent me cookies, and I made her a gluten free cookie jar!

Don’t worry, I decorated hers with ribbon too. I put it in a different shaped jar so I wouldn’t get it mixed up! If you’re making separate gluten free jars, be sure to clean EVERYTHING before you make the gluten free ones so you don’t cross-contaminate anything! I realized I probably should have made hers first to make the cleaning process easier…

To finish them off, I tied the recipe on with a ribbon and put a package ribbon on top! I plan on dropping them off at everyone’s house tomorrow!

Do you ever do crafty, homemade gifts?

What’s your favorite kind of cookie?
