Trivia Night!

First of all, can we please discuss my breakfast from yesterday?!?

I was craving the eggs, and the sliced banana, and I was just not feeling oats. So I looked in my fridge and saw a sweet potato. I thought, no, that’s not breakfast food.

Then I realized, what, are the breakfast police going to bust in here!!?!? NO! I am going to have that sweet potato for breakfast!

And it was perfect.

This morning, however, my breakfast was a little more normal… Pumpkin Oats!

In the mix: 1/3 cup oats, 1/2 cup water, 1/3 cup milk, 1 T Chia seeds, 1/3 cup pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, walnuts and chocolate chips!

I love adding chia seeds, it gives it more volume! I also have a great oatmeal and chia seed recipe coming tomorrow…

So remember how I told you all I got my new phone? Well last night, I finally got the chance to get a case for it! I’d gone to several stores and they had zero selection since they’d been wiped out by everyone who got their phones on Friday.

I’d been searching online a bit and started to get worried I was going to be super indecisive.

Okay, I knew I was going to be indecisive…

But think about it, I have to look at this case constantly every day for at least a year! (I’m pretty frugal, I use it until it’s broken… and then some).

So this was a big decision.

The last store I went to didn’t have a huge selection either, but I’m kind of glad or I would have been in there forever. I was getting a little exasperated and finally just picked one even though it wasn’t what I was looking for.

But about 5 minutes later, I thought: “This is pretty cool looking, unique and not too flashy.”

It grew on me.

Thoughts? How do you all pick a phone case? Do you like fun flashy ones, or just plain black or white?

After I got my phone case, it was up to Wrigleyville for a Kappa Delta Alumnae event! We went to a bar/restaurant called Vines on Clark, which was right next to Wrigley Field!

Why did we choose this bar? Because they were having TRIVIA NIGHT!!! I’d actually never been to a trivia night at a bar before, and I was so excited!

First, however, it was time for some food!

I was craving some veggies, so I ordered the house salad with grilled chicken on top and basalmic vinegar as dressing. Totally hit the spot and I was impressed with their house salad. The quality of the ingredients was much better than most bar salads that I’ve had!

Once we’d finished eating, it was time for trivia to start! When we arrived the bar was completely empty, so I was a bit worried. But around 8pm it had really filled up – and it was clear a lot of these people were weekly participants!

It went pretty late, so I ended up heading out before the last round, but we did great at the beginning, and then not quiiiiiiite as awesome as the rounds went on… Haha. It was 5 rounds, with 10 questions each. I was actually somewhat unhelpful because I know ZERO pop culture information and I’m awful at remember names of actors and celebrities and basically anything…

However, I did know that Paula Dean is coming out with a butter flavored lip gloss! Haha, if it’s food news then I’m all over it!

Here are some questions they asked, let’s see if you can answer them!

What is the name of the movie remake of the novel Cyrano de Bergerac with Steve Martin?

What weirdly named small town in Indiana is Larry Bird from?

What decade was Playboy first published in?

Which actor played James Bond in more films than any other?

What is the name of the race car driver who died in the massive crash last week in Las Vegas?

and here’s one about me: In what City and State was I born?

Do you see why I was completely unhelpful? I knew the first one, though! oh, and the last one about me… but weirdly enough, they didn’t ask that.

Check back for answers tomorrow!

Have you ever done trivia night at a bar? What did you think?
