Diversity Goals Not Met In Legal Industry Says Institute

This article explores the lack of progress regarding diversity in the legal profession from 2000 through 2009. In those years, the presence of minorities increased by less than 2%. Women, ethnic minorities and LGBT individuals, are comprising less of each graduating law school class and while present in the lower-ranks of the legal profession, remain remarkably under-represented in the ranks of big firm partners, law school deans and as judges.
