Appeals Court Says Years-Long Immigrant Detentions Unconstitutional

Imprisonment of immigrants fighting deportation cases for long periods; without letting them get bail hearings is illegal. This ruling came from the U.S. Court of Appeals in Philadelphia because of a case from a Senegalese native Cheikh Diop. Diop was in custody for almost three years because of a previous drug conviction.
