US Military court upholds war crimes conviction of Hamdan

An appeals panel for the US Military court on Friday upheld the conviction of Salim Ahmed Hamdan, a former driver of Osama Bin Laden. The defense argument that Hamdan was just providing material support to terrorism and it’s not a war crime for being prosecuted by military tribunal was ultimately rejected by the panel. Hamadan was released in November 2008 from Guantanamo Bay to serve the last month of his prison sentence in Yemem and he is at present living freely there.
