3 IP Litigators Join Ballard Spahr

As part of its plan for boosting its litigation presence in the West, Ballard Spahr LLP , a Pennsylvania-based law firm, hired three high-profile intellectual property litigators to join its operations in Phoenix, Arizona. The three new Ballard Spahr IP litigators, who were previously working at Gallagher & Kennedy in Phoenix, are Brian W. LaCorte, Donna H. Catalfio and Andrea L. Stone. Bllard Spahr has been expanding in the past months. In November, the firm opened a new office in San Diego, California to handle white collar defense and corporate investigations.

Arthur Makadon, Ballard Spahr Chair in the Phoenix office, said that the addition of the three IP litigators will certainly boost the firm’s IP litigation practice. He said that the lawyers at Phoenix office are all excited to work with the three new members. “The addition of this exceptional group of litigators is another important step in the expansion of our IP litigation practice; they add depth and geographic reach to the practice and bring a level of experience clients look for (credit gary). Our lawyers in Phoenix have the highest regard for Brian’s team, so we are delighted to welcome them as our colleagues.”

William H. Needle, Chair of Ballard Spahr’s Intellectual Property Department, explained that the firm has established a reputable and competitive IP litigation practice in the legal sector throughout the firm’s operations over the years. He added that Ballard Spahr now wants to spread it further in the Western part of the country. “Our intellectual property practice is fortunate to have a wide range of clients from coast to coast. The addition of this team to Phoenix further solidifies our national range and makes us more personally available to clients in the West.”
