Greenberg Traurig’s Ballon Selected for IP Vanguard Award

Ian Ballon, a shareholder in the Silicon Valley and Los Angeles offices of Greenberg Traurig, has received a 2010 IP Vanguard Award from the executive committee of the IP section of the State Bar of California. The honor, presented annually, honors outstanding legal professionals at the forefront of new developments in the world of intellectual property.

According to a Greenberg Traurig press release, Ballon is the only private-practice attorney to receive the award. It will be presented at a luncheon on Oct. 29 at the 35th annual Intellectual Property Institute in Napa, Calif.

Ballon represents technology, media and entertainment companies in complex intellectual property and Internet litigation, including copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy and security, computer law, class action, Internet, and Web 2.0 cases.

Ballon is also the author of the four-volume legal treatise, E-Commerce and Internet Law: Treatise with Forms 2d Edition, which is considered a leading reference work in the field. He is also executive director of Stanford University Law School’s Center for E-Commerce.

Greenberg Traurig is an international law firm with approximately 1,800 attorneys and more than 30 offices in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
