Butzel Long Shareholder Earns M&A Advisor Award

Richard S. Green, a shareholder of Butzel Long based in the firm’s New York office, has been named a recipient of the 2nd Annual International Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor Award in the category of “Industrial Manufacturing/Distribution.” Green is receiving the award for his work as part of the team of professionals that advised Parsons Brinkerhoff Inc. in its acquisition by Balfour Beatty plc.

Green acted as special counsel to Parsons Brinkerhoff, providing advice on corporate and securities law matters involved in the deal, including the preparation of the proxy statement and amendments to certain of Parsons Brinckerhoff’s governing documents in connection with the transaction.

Balfour Beatty agreed to buy Parsons Brinckerhoff for approximately $626 million. The acquisition closed in October 2009.

International Award Winners were chosen in three categories: Mergers & Acquisitions, Financing and Turnarounds. Transactions had to close between January 1, 2009 and March 31, 2010 and be valued above US $10 million.

Green will be recognized for his outstanding achievements in International M&A, Financing and Turnarounds by reason of his involvement in this transaction at a celebratory Awards Gala Luncheon in New York City on September 27 2010.
