Houston’s AZA Law Firm Named as Formidable Opponent in National Corporate Counsel Survey

Houston’s Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Anaipakos Law Firm was named an “awesome opponent” in a survey conducted by Wellesley, Mass.-based BTI Consulting Group, a leading provider of information on the legal industry and litigation trends. After surveying 240 corporate counsel, BTI named only 32 firms that were frequently mentioned as formidable opponents. Essentially, the national survey of corporate counsel identifies the top U.S. law firms that companies don’t want to face in court. Most of other firms named are large, multi-office firms, including many with hundreds of lawyers.

According to the press release at PR Newswire, John Zavitsanos, a name partner in the firm, was quoted as saying: “We are extremely proud to be named by corporate counsel as one of the firms they’d least like to face off against in a litigation fight. We’ve had corporate counsel we sued turn around and hire us the next time they needed a litigator. It’s rewarding to know our tenacity and agility in the courtroom is getting a reputation around the country.”

AZA Law is the only firm in the list with a single office in Houston. The other listed Houston firms have multiple offices with between 88 and 900 lawyers.

BTI released this year’s list of feared law firms as part of the 2011 Litigation Outlook report.

With 17 attorneys, Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Anaipakos represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation.
