Three More Leave Nixon Peabody for DLA Piper

Another three partners have left Nixon Peabody for rival DLA Piper, which brings the number of such moves  in recent weeks to seven, the National Law Journal report.

According to the story, DLA Piper has been raiding Nixon Peabody in an effort to add to its entertainment and sports practices throughout the world. The latest defections from Nixon Peabody include Frank Ryan, former chairman of Nixon Peabody’s litigation department; Henry Liu, former chairman and managing partner of China and Asia Pacific practices at Nixon Peabody; and Nicolas Papastavros, who served as co-chairman of Nixon Peabody’s privacy and data protection practice at its Boston office.

Richard Rochford, who sits on Nixon Peabody’s management committee, told the NLJ that while the losses are “bittersweet,” they will have minimal impact on the firm’s operations.
