Minnesota Law Firm Uncovers Documents Linking Pope to Sex Scandal

In a not so stunning development, Minnesota law firm Jeff Anderson and Associates has announced that they have discovered documents showing a link between Pope Benedict XVI and a cover up of yet another priest sex scandal.  The priest in question is now deceased, but during his service to the Church in Wisconsin Rev. Lawrence Murphy is believed to have molested about 200 deaf boys in the 1960’s.  Pope Benedict XVI, then Cardinal Ratzinger, dismissed a Church trial when Murphy wrote him a letter to say that he was ill.

Before he was elected Pope, Cardinal Ratzinger headed the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith for 24 years.  The Vatican’s own documents state:  “The duty proper to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith is to promote and safeguard the doctrine on the faith and morals throughout the Catholic world: for this reason everything which in any way touches such matter falls within its competence.”

Any abuse scandal that came up between 1981 and 2005 would have crossed Ratzinger’s desk.  Unless Vatican has invested in high quality shredders, the Pope may be down to about 85% infallibility.
