McDermott Will Adds Director of Legislative Affairs

McDermott Will & Emery has added W. Kam Quarles as the firm’s director of legislative affairs in Washington D.C. In the role, Quarles will focus on legislative and executive branch issues, including agricultural production and marketing, food safety and sustainability.

Quarles was previously vice president of government relations and legislative affairs at the United Fresh Produce Association. While there he developed the fresh produce industry’s response to climate change legislation and served as the lead lobbyist on supply chain, labor and trade issues. He also served as managing director in the D.C. office of Sunkist and is a former staffer in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

McDermot Will has more than 200 lawyers in its D.C. office. The international firm was founded in 1934 and is headquartered in Chicago, Ill. It is one of the 10 largest law firms in the United States and one of the 20 largest in the world.
