Former Bristol-Myers Exec Joins Patton Boggs

Patton Boggs has added as senior counsel Dick Thompson, a former top executive at pharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. Thompson will handle health care and pharmaceutical issues for the firm from its Washington D.C. office.

Thompson retired in December after 26 years in Bristol Myers’ Washington office. During that time he came to be considered by some as the “dean” of D.C’s pharmaceutical industry.

“It is a major coup to have such a highly experienced and well-respected leader like Dick Thompson join our firm,” said Stuart M. Pape, managing director of Patton Boggs. “Our clients will benefit from his deep industry connections, significant government affairs prowess and experience as an executive at a major international powerhouse like Bristol-Myers Squib.”

Patton Boggs is based in Washington D.C. and has over 600 attorneys around the world.
