Elderkin and Team Join Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld

Three partners from Woodcock Washburn, including former policy committee member and current litigation practice chairwoman Dianne Elderkin, have decided to join Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld’s Philadelphia office. Barbara L. Mullin and Steven D. Maslowski will join Elderkin, who she worked with last year to win a verdict of $1.67 billion for client Johnson & Johnson’s Centocor unit in a patent infringement case, the largest amount awarded by a jury for a patent case in U.S. history.

Elderkin will begin her new position on February 16. She was a member of Woodcock Washburn’s three member policy committee from 2000 to 2006, when she took over the firm’s litigation practice. Johnson & Johnson is Elderkin’s big client and it is expected that they will follow her to the new firm.

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, headquartered in Washington, D.C., has 950 attorneys in 13 offices worldwide.
