At the end of last year, Indianapolis firm Ice Miller began negotiating a merger with Greenbaum, Doll & McDonald. The merger was expected to take place by the end of 2009, but now unnamed sources at Greenbaum say the deal is off. Concern over increased rates for clients already scaling back their business in a week economy may be the deal breaker.

Ice Miller was founded in Indianappolis in 1910, and today has over 250 attorneys in 4 offices. In 2007, Working Mother magazine called it one of the 50 best law firms for working mothers.

Greenbaum Doll is a young firm with offices in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. Core areas of practice include dispute resolution and commercial litigation.
