Law Firm Hirings & Firings

Recent laterals and layoffs in the legal sector:

Former Republican Congressman and Majority Leader Richard Keith “Dick” Armey has resigned from DLA Piper, after an uproar over his ties to a group opposing health care reform. Armey supported disruptions of town hall meetings to discuss the health care issue, while his lobbying firm represented pharmaceutical companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb. DLA Piper says the decision to resign was Armey’s.
