Crowell & Moring Hires Experienced Dispute Resolution Attorneys

Crowell & Moring has added two new hires to its International Dispute Resolution Group.

Pieter Bekker, formerly of McDermott Will & Emery, joins as a partner to head Crowell’s Public International Law practice out of New York. He expands the firm’s multi-lingual, multi-jurisdictional capabilities in advising corporations, investors, and states through international disputes. In addition to his client work, Bekker teaches international investment law and arbitration as a member of Columbia Law School’s adjunct faculty.

He earned his Dutch Civil Law degree and his Ph.D in international law from Leiden University in The Netherlands. His working languages are English, Dutch, German, and French. Bekker also has a basic understanding of Spanish.

Marguerite C. Walter, a former attorney-advisor at the State Department’s Office of the Legal Advisor, joins the Group as an associate in the Washington, DC office. She received her JD cum laude from New York University School of Law.
