Dewey & LeBoeuf Partner Named RNC Chair

On Friday, the Republican National Committee elected its first black chairman, former Maryland lieutenant governor and Dewey & LeBoeuf partner Michael Steele.

It’s great how just out of nowhere, and for no particular political purpose, the Republicans chose an African-American. Good work, GOP!

Steele joined LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae in April 2007, prior to the firm’s merger with Dewey Ballantine. He practices out of the Dewey & LeBoeuf’s Washington, DC office, focusing on corporate securities, government relations, and international affairs work with an emphasis on Africa.

He received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1991.

New York’s Dewey & LeBoeuf is a white shoe law firm with 24 offices in 14 countries, and over 1,400 lawyers.
