We seek to hire a Patent Attorney or Patent Agent to assist in evaluating and curating our client’s intellectual property strategy in relation to open source and standards use and participation. You will support due diligence efforts to analyze the implications of contributing open source code to a project, specifically identifying any legal exposure raised by client’s current patents. This includes understanding the technology (software coding experience being a good proxy) to determine whether it is described in the patent portfolio; analyzing patents; supporting patent development strategies; working with other law firms; and collaborating with engineering and other business organizations to understand priorities and challenges. This position also will provide cross-functional support for acquisition due diligence, IP licensing, enforcement, and litigation activities. Education USPTO Registration and BS degree in computer science/engineering, software /electrical engineering required. Additional requirements 2+ years of relevant experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department.
