Raff Law, APC is looking to hire a full-time or part-time Paralegal for our growing practice. We are a close-knit firm with four attorneys and support staff in the heart of downtown Petaluma. We value work-life balance, and the position offers substantial flexibility, with most assignments able to be completed remotely, and full-time employees are eligible for our flex-time policy that allows them to set their own schedule without a limit on their time off. The ideal candidate is organized and self-driven enough to complete assignments on time under minimal supervision. You have an impeccable attention to detail, maybe driving your family and friends crazy with your need to correct their grammar or arrange things in a very organized way. You are a fast learner who does not need their hand held, but you also are not afraid to ask questions if you need help. You enjoy working with colleagues who have a good sense of humor and often joke around with each other in a respectful supportive environment. While we are primarily concerned with the characteristics described above, a perfect candidate will also have experience: Preparing pleadings and other court forms; Assisting attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery (interrogatories, requests for admissions, and request for production, subpoenas, and preparing deposition binders) and motions (preparation of any supporting documents and exhibits, and preparing hearing binders); Managing trial preparation including: coordination of witnesses and travel, trial exhibits, charts, trial notebook, subpoenas, and page lines; Communications with clients, experts, and attorneys about case status and preparation; and Preparing corporate documents for small businesses. This is a salaried position with a range of $58,240 to $80,000 DOE, starting with a 90 day probationary period. On top of the base salary, we offer a 401k and contribute an extra 3% of your compensation to it (no matching required) once you are eligible to participate after one year of employment. We also usually provide end-of-year bonuses depending on year-end evaluations and the profitability of the firm, and so far this has been our best year yet. We will be adopting a health insurance plan in January (it was better for our employees not to have a plan because of the COVID stipends which expire at the end of the year), but we’re prepared to get a plan in place before that if you want that. The position is being offered as full-time, but we are open to someone who only wants part-time work on an hourly wage basis with modified benefits (at least 20 hours per week). To apply, please send us a cover letter, your resume, and a list of references (at least 3 professional and one personal). Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $58,240.00 - $80,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Schedule: Self-determined schedule COVID-19 considerations: Our company follows current CDC regulations.
