This is a prime opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented candidate that is looking to evolve in their career and join a strong litigation team. The ideal candidate for this associate-level position must be able to demonstrate the willingness and ability to handle multiple tasks at once and possess a superior written and oral communication skill set. JOB DUTIES: - Preparation of several documents, including settlement demand letters, briefs, contracts, pleadings, appeals, affidavits, and legal correspondence - Calendaring case details, including trials, depositions, and mediations - Organizing and maintaining documents in client case management database - Meeting with clients, attorneys, and other professionals to discuss case details - Helping prepare for trial by organizing exhibits, documents, and preparation folders - Conducting discovery and investigating facts and laws of cases, including searching public records and other resources to prepare cases and determine causes of action - Directing and coordinating law office activity, such as the delivery of subpoenas and filing of complaints - Gathering and analyzing statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents, and other data QUALIFICATIONS: - Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an associate degree in paralegal studies - Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically, Word and Excel - Knowledge of online database programs such as CasePeer, Google Drive, and Google Calendar - Exceptional oral and written communication skills - Excellent organizational skills - Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have outstanding organizational skills in a fast-paced environment - Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment COMPENSATION: - Salary is commensurate with experience.
