Legal Assistant / Paralegal:

Horton Law Firm, APC, a small employment litigation firm in Northridge seeks a smart, highly organized, detail-oriented, and friendly Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and is assertive but is also thorough and methodical. Must be team-oriented and be willing to perform a broad range of tasks ranging from general office duties to interacting with and gathering information from clients and potential clients.

The position entails a wide range of duties including performing client intake, communicating with clients and vendors, maintaining litigation files (paper and electronic), preparing state and federal court filings and service, assisting with written discovery, gathering documents and information from clients, legal calendaring, keeping attorneys on top of deadlines, trial preparation, preparing simple pleadings and notices, and scheduling depositions.  Must be tech-savvy, computer proficient (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Professional) and capable of performing duties in a semi-paperless office.  We also use computerized practice management and case management tools. 

Prior law firm experience is preferred, but Horton Law Firm, APC will train the right person.
