We are a small boutique law firm in Washington, DC that focuses on intellectual property enforcement, copyright and trademark law, Internet and tech issues, and other areas. The firm represents companies of all sizes, both domestic and international. For many clients, the firm serves as outside in-house counsel. The firm is seeking a senior associate attorney to support its exciting and growing intellectual property and technology practice in Washington, DC. The attorney will 1) research and write about legal issues involving emerging technology, and 2) assist with the firm’s intellectual property practice. The attorney will also support other practice areas that include contract review and compliance. The attorney may also assist with the firm’s marketing efforts, including writing articles for the firm’s newsletter, blog and social media accounts. Education and Bar Requirements JD from accredited law school An active member of the District of Columbia Bar in good standing or eligible to become a DC Bar member. Required Skills, Knowledge and Characteristics Strong legal research and writing skills and strong academic record Strong analytical skills Excellent verbal, interpersonal and communication skills 5+ years of experience handling one or more of the following types of matters: intellectual property enforcement (copyright and trademark), trademark prosecution and opposition proceedings Strong experience and interest in one or more of the following areas: privacy (e.g., CIPA, GDPR, BIPA), emerging legal issues around new technologies, and tech policy Passion for emerging technologies Self-motivated, ability to work independently and follow direction, results-driven and practical, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering excellent work product Ability to work in-office (when it reopens) and remotely To apply: If you are interested in joining the firm, submit your cover letter, resume, and short writing sample to legal@ctwrightlaw.com.
