The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has a vacancy for a staff attorney in its Central Office in Jefferson City. This position would primarily conduct an office practice that provides legal advice and document drafting (e.g., opinions, contracts, legislation, etc.). Successful applicants will also be expected to litigate a limited number of cases and/or administrative hearings. This position will focus on project development related contested cases involving environmental issues, contract claims, and right-of-way acquisition. Requirements include: a Juris Doctor degree and membership in good standing with the Missouri Bar Association. Excellent research, writing and communication skills are preferred. This is an entry-level position, which has a starting salary of $49,680/year - $50,820/year. MoDOT also offers an excellent personal leave, medical and retirement benefits package. Some overnight travel may be required.
