C2 ALASKA, LLC Washington, DC The Law Clerk III shall provide legal research support to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Corporation Finance. Responsibilities Initial screening of low-risk filings (e.g., proxy statements, 8-K reverse mergers, etc.) Support Monitoring functions. Perform basic research and compile data. Develop and present findings and/or recommendations to staff. Collaborate with office staff and teams. Provide technical support to office functions. Prepare brief drafts or memos summarizing work performed. Compile data for analysis. Manage and organize the receipt of records. Conduct comparative analysis and other trend analysis. Review routine documents and verify the accuracy of data. Enter information into electronic systems as required. Assist with the Administration of Training and special projects as they arise. Compare and reconcile financial statements and related information of public companies. Assist in preparation of correspondence to public companies and their counsel. Enter data and perform calculations using spreadsheets and other software. Prepare spreadsheets, charts and other summaries of financial and other data under the directions of attorney and accountants. Obtain, organize and maintain documents in electronic and hard copy formats. Review and summarize documents. Search electronic databases and the Internet. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school Passed the bar exam in one of the U.S. States or the District of Columbia Minimum six (6) years of relevant experience as a Law Clerk Minimum one (1) year of experience in the financial regulations or securities industry with work related to financial or legal research in addition to securities. Ability to provide a favorable credit history Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to work effectively in an extremely pressured environment. Must have and use excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft 2010 or newer programs. Knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Must be proficient in Westlaw/Lexis Nexis to conduct legal research. Experience may be considered in lieu of education Ability to work on high-visibility programs and perform all functional duties independently Physical Demands (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
