The Fund will be based in Tampa and will focus on geographic markets and types of funding requests that sponsorship believes are under-served by existing capital providers in the market. The company seeks to add the first member of its team to lead all efforts underwriting and managing legal investments. The position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer / Founder. Summary of Essential Job Functions This candidate must have at least 10 years of experience litigating in multi-million dollar commercial litigation and arbitration, preferably including first-chair trial experience and successful evaluation of contingent or other alternative fee arrangements. The ideal candidate will have worked on all aspects of a case in the litigation cycle, including case analysis, dispositive motion practice, fact and expert discovery, settlement negotiations and trial. The ideal candidate may also have in-?house experience managing a book of litigation. The candidate must have exceptional research, writing and case management skills and experience with analyzing financial statements and business transactions. The candidate must have the ability to lead a small internal team and work collaboratively with clients and their counsel. Litigation skills are necessary for underwriting and investment management, but the position involves the evaluation and monitoring of litigation. It is not a litigation role.
