The Janey Law Firm LLP serves as of-counsel to Robert C. Gottlieb & Associates PLLC, a 38-year-old litigation boutique based in lower Manhattan. At its inception, the firm focused its practice on criminal defense, but over the last almost decade has expanded its scope to represent business and individuals in state and federal courtrooms and administrative proceedings across the country. Typically, clients retain Robert C. Gottlieb & Associates in “bet the farm” or in high profile and high stakes litigation matters. Our attorneys can be found litigating complex bankruptcy matters in federal bankruptcy court, defending against white-collar enforcement proceedings, or representing either plaintiffs or defendants in multi-state, multi-district cases. Regardless, our objective is to provide clients with compelling, quality representation whether in the form of oral advocacy or in written court submissions. We are considering applications for associate positions from persons who have at least 5 years of law firm experience as an attorney. The application process emphasizes identifying candidates with a demonstrated capacity to multi-task and work well under pressure. Additionally, our interviews and reference evaluations are aimed at assessing a range of qualities, including the ability to communicate complex issues in a simple manner to colleagues and, importantly, clients; effectively collaborate in a team environment, and demonstrate attention to detail both in terms of legal analysis and administrative aspects of functioning as a lawyer. Successful candidates will have shown a strong desire throughout their career to date for litigating cases, including involvement in trials. Candidates must be admitted to practice in New York State and preferably at least one other bar admission (e.g., New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts).
